Helen Kelly, a caregiver at Aurora Sinai Medical Center, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 28, surrounded by friends and family, after a four-month battle with liver cancer. Aurora was blessed with the gift of this accomplished expert nurse for the past 31 years, said Debbie Donovan, supervisor of the Sexual Assault Treatment Center, where Helen had most recently worked. “Helen put her heart and soul into her nursing, both in the cardiac setting and for the past 22 years, with the Sexual Assault Treatment Center. Helen’s gift of compassion for victims of violence and gift of teaching others in the forensic nursing field, assures that Helen’s ‘healing touch’ is reaching victims far beyond our Aurora doors. She was very special and we miss her dearly,” Debbie said.
